Text Box: Welcome to the Taylor Ferry Fire Department
Wagoner County Oklahoma

ISO-Public Protection Class 6

MISSION STATEMENT
To “Protect the Lives and Property” of the citizens of the Taylor Ferry Area from natural and manmade hazards through prevention, education and active intervention.

FIREFIGHTER PLEDGE

I, (name), promise to uphold the Honor and the Tradition of the Fire Service, by exhibiting moral character, honorable conduct and respect for my fellow firefighters and the community which I serve. I vow to do everything within my power to fulfill the Fire Service Mission to “Protect Life and Property”.

HISTORY
Taylor Ferry Fire Department was founded in 1991 by the residents within the area with one mission in mind, “provide fire suppression capabilities”. Station #1 was built in 1992 on a small tract of land donated by Bill Brooks. Over the years, the department went through many changes trying to keep pace with the population growth.

In 2003, TFFD began an endeavor to improve all aspects of the Department including:
Firefighter Recruitment
Aggressive Training Program
Fleet Overhaul and Acquisition
Improve the ISO-Public Protection Class

In November 2004, TFFD was surveyed by the Insurance Services Office (ISO) and was reclassified from PPC-9 to PPC-6, which reduced Homeowners Insurance Rates by about 50% throughout the community. This Classification was made possible using the original Engine 1, two Tankers and a Service Truck. 30 Firefighters proved their skills.

During the summer of 2005, TFFD acquired two “Type 1”, Municipal Class Engines, which brought the department into the 21st Century. In 2006, we added two additional Tankers and two Fast Attack Squads.

We began construction on Station #2, in 2008. Also in 2008, TFFD received a Grant from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for the acquisition of Engine #2, which will vastly increase the department capabilities.
